La mémoire des bougies et comment en prendre soin

It's officially CANDLE SEASON! Our wooden wicks are so pleasant, but sometimes slightly temperamental. You just have to give them a little love. But how?

Candles have a memory. If you have ordered on our website, you have received a little piece of paper explaining how to make sure you get the most out of your candle. If however, you have not obtained this precious piece of paper and you want to understand what the memory of a candle is, I invite you to read these tips!

Like anything made with love, candles with a wooden wick require special attention. Here are some tips to help you with its use:

Hold the candle on an angle when lighting it

Use a long lighter,

and leave the flame against the wick for a few seconds to ensure it is well lit.

Alternatively, you can also use a match and also leave the flame against the wick for a few seconds. This step is crucial.

In order for it to burn optimally, make sure to leave the candle lit until the entire surface is melted evenly (min. 1 hour). This will prevent a hole from forming around the wick, causing the flame to go out the next time you use it.

Trim the wick before each use (approx. ¼″)

(you can use your fingers and remove the burnt part!)

We also sell lovely wick trimmers if you prefer to not get dirty!

I hope that these few tips will help you enjoy your new favourite candles!
