Flambette at Puces POP

Oct 13, 2022

by Roxane Gagnon

Since the pandemic, big gatherings are definitely rarer. The opportunity arose to participate in the fall edition of the Puces POP market and we were so excited!

What is Puces POP? A market aiming to promote and celebrate independent crafters.

As the newest Flambette team member, it was my first market! I wasn't sure what to expect and here are my observations:

1- Meeting YOU!

Flambette has many retailers in Montreal and to meet people who love our products, some who even have a bigger collection than I do, was truly special! It really was the highlight of my weekend.

2- Discovering local artisans

Choosing which makers to write about was a real challenge. We met so many talented people! Here are some of our favourites:

So soft rugs

So soft rugs is a Montreal company founded by Vanessa. With sheep's wool, she creates rugs, wall decorations, coasters and her famous flower tote bags. Her items are handmade and made to order as a reminder to slow down and create with purpose. We got ourselves some white and green coasters and we absolutely love them!

Àrakö

I'm a big fan of ARQ undies and Àrakö immediately attracted me with their similar aesthetics and BONUS, it's a Montreal company that offers ultra comfortable underwear in MANY sizes! (XS-4XL, 2Y-10Y). I spoiled myself with a waffle cropped tank and I love it! It was also really nice to meet Anaëlle, the founder.

Teddy Boy

It's basically impossible not to fall in love with Erika, the founder of Teddy Boy. She makes the most original and adorable dog accessories ever! We would have liked to meet Teddy, but he wasn't there. Next time maybe?

Brodé Serré

Brodé Serré truly meets Flambette's values by encouraging its customers to take a moment for themselves. Marianne makes, among other things, DIY embroidery sets and it is such a perfect gift! Her patterns are so cute! We haven't tried our set yet, due to lack of time, but we will soon and we are thrilled!

Sedna

Marie-Michelle and Tania could not resist the extra soft fabrics of the clothing from Sedna. Claudia creates small quantities and reuses unused fabrics to ensure nothing is wasted. Her simple yet original designs have something to please everyone. We love BARBARA, the jogging-style hemp shorts and the crop top with a pocket, CLOÉ.

3- DOGGOS!

Okokok I just wanted to mention that some people brought their dogs and it made me extra happy. There was even a little Frenchie in a backpack named Gaspar. SO CUTE.

Looking forward to meeting you in a market near you!
