On April 1st, we moved most of my personal belongings, most items having been stored at Flambette. I had plants that were surviving on artificial life support under neon lights, and they are grateful to have found a new bright home. This new step allowed me to gain full custody of my bestie, Blake. That makes me VERY, VERY happy.
The day went smoothly thanks to the indispensable help of dear friends. Marie, a professional when it comes to assembling IKEA furniture and installing things that require a drill; Roxane, always motivated to lift furniture/boxes endlessly and with the necessary skills to help assemble my new sectional; and my friends Laurie and Ian-Hubert, without whom we wouldn't have managed to bring the five giant boxes containing the parts of said couch up to the second floor and to Tetris the items for each truck trip. Special thanks to Lenny for his passion for wipes and his help with cleaning.
I had saved candles received as gifts over the past year for this special moment, but of course, I have my classics from Flambette that are absolutely worth mentioning. Here’s my starter kit for my new home:
I really like having familiar scents that help me feel at home quickly. Making your house feels like home is an ongoing task, but I have a good feeling that I'm here to stay for quite a while. I'm very excited to add my personal touch to each room and to live in a cozy space.
A nod to Marie’s new article on spring cleaning: I just moved into my new home, but I plan to use her list for my spring cleaning every year from now on!
