Three new candles that smell like budding trees and hope for a normal-ish summer and of course, they look absolutely stunning too.
I thought my favorite was going to be verbena+thyme but, SURPRISE, eucalyptus+tea is even better than I imagined. Lovers of last summer's collection will be delighted. Rice flower + shea is the one that, in my opinion, will take you by surprise. Its floral and sweet notes are so different!
To celebrate the arrival of spring and, by extension, the arrival of this fabulous collection, a cocktail is in order. (If you think I'm looking for excuses to try new cocktail recipes, you're right.) We just bought a bottle of Menaud gin because I'm always so excited to find Quebec products in Halifax. If I'm being 100% honest, I also have to admit that the design of the product is the first thing that caught my eye. Using my pal, Google, I came across Le Vieux Sauge Cocktail made with Menaud Gin. “Le Vieux Sauge is a tribute to spring, a time when the different flavors resurface, when the freshness returns to the cocktails as we taste them under the first rays of the warm sun. » Exactly what I was looking for!
HERE IS THE RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS :
2 oz Menaud gin
3/4 oz simple syrup 1:1
1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
4 sage leaves
1 green strawberry
2-3 oz Club Soda Fever-Tree
STEPS:
1. In a shaker: Crush a green strawberry using a pestle
2. Add ice
3. Add all the ingredients except the soda
4. Mix together
5. Add 2 to 3 oz of soda directly to the shaker
6. Filter the contents on new ice
7. Taste
My boyfriend is not fond of gin with an overly floral aroma. We found that Menaud gin is perfect on that end. It is woodsy, lemony, fresh and a little floral obviously, but perfectly balanced, in our opinion! I hope you like this cocktail as much as the spring collection! Enjoy!
